City of Campbell River and iTel Networks partner to expand CRadvantage internet service for local businesses

For Immediate Release

The City is partnering with iTel Networks to expand Campbell River’s municipal internet service.

In addition to serving current and potential new customers on the open-access fibre optic network, iTel will provide Internet services to City facilities and subscribing businesses throughout the community.

“Through partnerships with wholesale service providers such as iTel Networks, CRadvantage continues to expand internet service, increase market competition and reduce the cost of high speed internet access within the Campbell River area,” says Warren Kalyn, the City’s information technology manager.

The award-winning CRadvantage network provides affordable, high-speed connectivity to support growth in the technology sector and allow local businesses to compete internationally.

“Technology continues to be a key economic driver for the City of Campbell River,” says Rose Klukas, the City’s economic development officer. “The worldwide impact of the COVID-19 crisis has clearly identified the essential requirement for affordable access to high-speed internet services, allowing businesses to remain viable in the global economy as they pivot to e-commerce platforms and increase their online presence.”

“As a business headquartered in BC, we are committed to supporting the provincial economy – and we look forward to helping the City of Campbell River expand access for the business community through the CRadvantage initiative,”
