iLink FAQs

General Questions:

iLink is a portable, all-in-one solution that combines SD-WAN, bonded 5G, and Starlink Satellite Internet to deliver secure, enterprise-grade connectivity anywhere. It is a lightweight, weather-resistant enclosure that is easy to deploy in minutes, even in remote or emergency situations.

The iLink solution includes two 5G modems with 8x antennas, dual-band WiFi, Starlink for LEO Satellite, Battery and access to a Cloud-based management portal.

iLink provides a unified, scalable connectivity backbone designed to evolve with your business. It enables quick provisioning for new sites or employees and helps prevent technical bottlenecks that can hinder business expansion. By acting as a single point of contact, iLink reduces the complexity of managing multiple vendors and networks, allowing you to focus on growth.

iLink's advanced multi-carrier connectivity bonds two dual-SIM integrated 5G modems with LEO Satellite broadband. This intelligent hybrid approach ensures unparalleled redundancy and reliability by overcoming the limitations of each technology. For example, if you are in a city with strong cellular coverage, it can utilize 5G, and if you are in a remote area without cellular service, it can switch to Starlink.

Technical Specifications:

The system can achieve ~380–400 Mbps bonded throughput, and up to 1 Gbps only across multiple WANs without bonding overhead.

iLink can be powered by an internal battery for 30+ hours with 5G-only usage and 8–10 hours with Starlink + 5G combined. It can also run on AC power supply (110/220V) and 10-32 V DC via vehicle/solar accessories, including charging through a car's auxiliary output.

The hardware is designed to withstand harsh environments and has an impact-resistant polymer shell. It is IP65 rated — dustproof and water-resistant, not submersible.

Installation is not a requirement for this standalone device (it can work from anywhere), however the system is designed for simple, tool-less installation in less than five minutes. Some mounting options include magnetic or suction, for vehicles, vessels, or rooftops.

Applications & Use Cases

Yes. iLink enables field work and real-time communications in previously inaccessible areas with scarce or non-existent internet infrastructure. It can boost data transfer speeds and foster economic and educational opportunities.

Yes. The SIM plans and Starlink plan would have to be changed or throttled from Local to Global or Roaming - causing the use of it in the USA to be significantly more expensive.

Yes, iLink's mounting capabilities make it easy to equip vehicles in a fleet with seamless LEO satellite and 5G connectivity. This ensures uninterrupted access to critical applications like tracking and communication, helping fleets optimize routes and improve efficiency.

In disaster zones where traditional communication infrastructure is damaged, iLink can be quickly deployed to provide connectivity for coordination between first responders, communication with affected populations, and setting up temporary command centers.

Yes, iLink enables telemedicine consultations, fast and reliable transfer of medical data, and real-time communication with hospitals, which is essential for mobile medical units and rural clinics.

It automatically fails over or bonds with the integrated 5G/LTE cellular connections.  This intelligent hybrid approach is a core feature, using cellular networks to compensate for the limitations of satellite signals in certain environments.

Service & Support

No. iTel Networks provides the iLink service on a "best effort" basis, as it relies on the availability of third-party services like Starlink and cellular networks25. Service availability is subject to factors beyond iTel's control, such as network congestion, outages, and environmental conditions.

iTel Networks offers a one-year warranty to the original purchaser for hardware components that have defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty does not cover damage from misuse, abuse, neglect, external causes (like power surges or natural disasters), or if the hardware is dropped or dislodged. The secure mounting of the device is the sole responsibility of the user.
