Job Description:

In the role of Data Centre Technician, you will have an integral behind-the-scenes role and will be responsible for building servers, troubleshooting both hardware and software, provisioning, monitoring, and handling RMA’s and order processing.  Although this is a highly technical position, customer interaction (both internal and external) will be required from time to time. Additionally, a shared understanding of the tasks and goals to be achieved within the team is critical, so being able to communicate well with both technical and non-technical people is a must.

Required Technical Skills and Experience:

  • Building servers
  • Hardware troubleshooting
  • Provisioning Operating Systems
  • Basic OS troubleshooting
  • Fog server basics
  • SSH basics
  • Networking basics, Ping, arp, etc
  • Systems monitoring
  • RMA / Ordering process
  • Troubleshoot problems relating to telecommunications, networking, virtualization.
  • Manage and configure Linux systems
  • Remain up-to-date on the latest Support Team procedures and follow them carefully
  • Work with the team to meet Service Level Agreements and other customer service goals
  • Follow defined support procedures, escalating as needed per defined criteria
  • Writing technical documentation

Required Technical Skills and Experience:

  • Software Development experience
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Familiarity with computer and server hardware
