Kamloops, BC, April 18, 2011 – iTel, a leading provider of phone, cable, and internet services, and BCSLA (British Columbia Seniors Living Association), an organization empowering leaders of the senior living industry to provide the best quality of care for the seniors they serve, announced their partnership today. As the largest independent carrier network in Canada, iTel answers the senior living industry’s need for superior communications services.

This strategic alliance will be advantageous to the BCSLA, a membership comprised of senior living industry owners and operators, putting its members in a position to generate new sources of revenue from their properties. BCSLA members using iTel’s services can distinguish themselves from the competition when backed by the strength of iTel’s network, a network covering the largest VoIP footprint of any independent carrier in Canada. iTel’s services offer a centralized platform for integrating retirement communities across properties, equipping BCSLA members with the tools and resources they need to staff efficiently for increased productivity and lower administrative costs.

The new partnership will likewise benefit residents of these senior living institutions, in being able to enjoy iTel’s dependable phone, internet, and cable services at below-market rates. Through iTel, residents will have the comfort and convenience of retaining the same telephone number they have relied on for years. iTel’s unlimited calling provides a simple, comprehensive calling plan for keeping residents connected with their loved ones, with calling and billing records easily accessible online. Residents will also be able to stay conveniently informed of facility-wide news and events via their telephone handsets or an in-house news channel.

“We are excited to further expand iTel’s marketing scope to include BCSLA members, in alignment with our mission to become a household name,” says Jaethan Reichel, CBDO for iTel. “Through this alliance, we are now able to reach a large new customer base, one that iTel is perfectly poised to serve well with our unrivaled lineup of telecom products and services.”

————

About iTel: iTel offers its clients quality unified communications solutions at competitive prices designed to enhance efficiency, increase productivity, and decrease telecom spending. iTel wholly owns and operates its own custom-designed network, a fast, reliable network with over 1,045 rate centers across Canada. www.itel.ca

Are curious about technology innovation and entrepreneurship in Kamloops.

Have a killer idea and want to create a new tech startup

Want to work in, with, or around great Kamloops startups

Want to meet a real life entrepreneur

Jaethan Reichel is the Business Development Director at iTel. He often tells people that he works as a janitor to avoid public speaking, but this is not always a successful ploy. Jaethan worked in the Oil and Gas sector, where he was burned repeatedly (He wishes this was a metaphor).

He was a founding member of the National CIO Remote Communications Council,
and sits on the Board of the Canadian Cloud Computing Best Practices council.

He helped create the Kamloops Innovation Centre (KIC) in 2010 with help from the Interior Science and Innovation Council (ISIC). Fortunate to marry above his genetic potential, Jaethan collects old books, interesting friends, and sharp knives.

His presentation, “Kamloops Accelerated”, will talk about KIC, Japanese Swordsmiths, and our city’s future as an innovation destination. There will be at least one musical interlude.
